Just released for FY27, Azure Frontier Accelerate is Microsoft's new Azure funding programme, giving organisations access to funding of up to $150,000 for qualifying database projects and $131,250 for AI initiatives.
The programme supports a broad range of Azure projects, including migration, modernisation, security, data platform, VMware, Azure Virtual Desktop, and AI workloads, helping organisations move from planning through to implementation.
Historically, Microsoft Azure funding was delivered through several separate programmes aligned to individual workloads. Azure Frontier Accelerate brings these funding streams together under a single programme, making it easier for organisations to access funding while aligning projects to Microsoft's strategic Azure priorities.
This streamlined approach gives organisations a clearer path to funding across multiple Azure scenarios through a single framework.
One of the most significant developments in FY27 is Microsoft's increased investment in database migration and modernisation projects, with funding of up to $150,000 available for a single qualifying database project.
Importantly, this is not limited to Microsoft databases. Organisations running non-Microsoft database platforms can also explore migration opportunities to Azure and may be eligible for funding support.
A key advantage of the programme is that funding is available across multiple phases of the project lifecycle.
