Brian Caulfield and Simon Dennett join Spanish Point as the company continues to scale internationally
6 Nov 2026 | 2 mins read
Brian Caulfield and Simon Dennett have joined Spanish Point at an important stage in the company’s growth. Brian joins as Chairperson, bringing extensive experience as a technology entrepreneur and investor, while former Kobalt Music Group executive Simon joins Spanish Point’s Matching Engine as Chief Product Officer.
Their appointment follows strategic investment from Apiary Capital earlier this year, the first external funding taken by Spanish Point after 20 years of self-funded growth.
This marks a new phase for Spanish Point, with international growth and continued investment in Matching Engine and its wider portfolio of enterprise software products, AI-enabled cloud platforms and scalable Microsoft-native infrastructure solutions at the centre of that strategy.
Strengthening Spanish Point’s leadership
Brian Caulfield is one of Ireland’s most active technology investors, as a Venture Partner and former Managing Partner at Molten Ventures. He chairs Scale Ireland and is a former Chair of the Irish Venture Capital Association and former director of The Irish Times.
“Irish software companies are often either services businesses or product companies. Spanish Point stands apart in having built both successfully. I am looking forward to working with the team to build on that foundation and take it into its next phase of international growth.”

Strengthening Matching Engine for its next phase of growth
Simon Dennett brings a wealth of experience to his new role, supporting the continued development and international growth of Matching Engine. He spent 14 years at Kobalt Music Group, serving as Chief Product Officer and Chief Commercial Officer, where he led product and commercial strategy across Kobalt’s publishing technology, global digital collection society AMRA (American Music Rights Association), and artist services business AWAL (Artists Without a Label).
“With Matching Engine already supporting rights organisations across 13 markets, Simon’s experience scaling music technology internationally will be instrumental in taking the platform to its next stage of growth.”
