This appointment comes on the heels of rapid expansion for Spanish Point, which now operates across 13 countries and has recorded a 163% revenue increase over four financial years.
Former Kobalt Chief Product Officer Simon Dennett also joins as CPO to support the continued development of Matching Engine as Spanish Point scales the product internationally.
DUBLIN, 4 November, 2026: Spanish Point Technologies, the Irish technology company specialising in enterprise software and Microsoft-native cloud, data and AI solutions, has appointed leading technology entrepreneur and investor Brian Caulfield as Chairperson, alongside the appointment of former Kobalt Music Group executive Simon Dennett as Chief Product Officer.
The appointments follow Spanish Point’s strategic investment from Apiary Capital earlier this year as the company enters its next phase of international growth. The investment marked the first external funding taken by the business after 20 years of self-funded growth, with Spanish Point accelerating its UK expansion and investment in proprietary products and intellectual property in 2026. CEO and Co-Founder John Corley has also been named a finalist in the Established Entrepreneur category of the 2026 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme, recognising his leadership in building and growing Spanish Point over the past two decades.
Spanish Point has doubled its team since 2023 to more than 120 people and has been recognised in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 as it continues to scale its proprietary technology solution, Matching Engine. The company has also grown its annual revenue by more than 163% over four financial years, reaching €25.7 million in FY26. Operating across more than 13 countries, Spanish Point is expanding its presence in the UK as it accelerates product development and international growth.
John Corley, CEO and Co-Founder of Spanish Point Technologies, said: "Brian has built, backed and chaired some of the most ambitious technology companies to come out of Ireland, and he knows what it takes to turn a strong engineering business into an international one. Simon spent 14 years at Kobalt working across product, technology and commercial strategy, helping develop the technology and commercial models behind its publishing platforms, AMRA and AWAL. Few people have his experience of scaling technology around global music rights, licensing and royalty infrastructure. With Matching Engine already supporting rights organisations across 13 markets, Simon’s experience scaling music technology internationally will be instrumental in taking the platform to its next stage of growth.”
Caulfield is one of Ireland's most active technology investors. A Venture Partner and former Managing Partner at Molten Ventures, he has backed companies including Movidius, Graphcore and Clavis Insight. He chairs Scale Ireland and Barespace, is a former Chair of the Irish Venture Capital Association and a former director of The Irish Times.
Brian Caulfield said: "Irish software companies are often either services businesses or product companies. Spanish Point stands apart in having built both successfully: twenty years of engineering for some of the most demanding organisations in Europe, and alongside that, a product the global music industry now relies on to get royalties to the right people. Matching Engine is an international product from an Irish company, and I’m looking forward to working with John, Daire, Simon and the team to build on that foundation and take it into its next phase of international growth.”
Dennett spent 14 years at Kobalt Music Group, serving as Chief Product Officer and Chief Commercial Officer. During his tenure, Dennett led product and commercial strategy across Kobalt’s publishing technology, global digital collection society AMRA (American Music Rights Association) and artist services business AWAL (Artists Without a Label). He joins Spanish Point as Chief Product Officer as the company scales Matching Engine internationally.
Matching Engine is used by rights organisations in 13 markets across Europe and North America, including IMRO, SOCAN, TONO and KODA. The platform supports organisations across copyright, royalty distribution, membership, licensing and digital rights management, and is a key focus of Spanish Point’s international growth strategy. Across the platform as a whole, Collective Management Organisations using Matching Engine are expected to distribute more than €1.2 billion in royalties to over 500,000 creators and rightsholders worldwide this year.
